Welcome back drinks

Booze, booze everywhere.
Booze, booze everywhere.
Trinity Term kicked off with a bang as OUMSSA welcomed everybody back with drinks and nibbles galore. Magners cider, Stella Artois beer, and a host of spirits made short work of some and got them happily inebriated. The quintessentially British drink, Pimm's, also made a mandatory showing to signify the beautiful spring term. Delightful tidbits from Singapore made the event that much more endearing, with prawn crackers, 大白兔, Hello Panda, tau sar piah, and that coloured cream biscuit thing.

There was even an onsite food station replete with traditional kaya toast. Say what, it was sliced bread and we used a toaster? Well, it's Oxford traditional kaya toast!

Yu-Jia, our Secretary, tirelessly served kaya toast to everyone, proving the versatility of our committee (and our love of food) (and serving others). The kaya and the bread cleared in no time, and earned the stamp of approval from Sze Wing's friends, Ben and Joe, from St Hugh's College.

The OUMSSA committee professed our love and passion prominently. A attempt to show solidarity by having everyone wear pink was not entirely successful. No matter, Du Xuan with her face paint wrote messages of love for OUMSSA (in pink, naturally) on the arms of those who were not of the proper vestimental decorum i.e. did not wear pink.

Otherwise talk was the order of the day, with many friends seeing each other for the first time since Easter. Holiday experiences were shared, collections were complained about, lawyers and psychologists were laughing at those unfortunate souls who had to take their prelims this term, and summer plans were discussed. Hellos were said between new acquaintances and hellos were said between those who were graduating.

The drinks set the stage for a tough term ahead. Check out some shots of the event below, and find the rest of the photos here!
